Recommended Add-ons

Discover the Nikon FG, a classic Film Camera in the Point and Shoot Film Camera style with interchangeable lenses and a single-lens reflex (SLR) design. This user-friendly yet advanced SLR was made by Nikon in Japan from 1982 to 1986.

Key Features

  • Programmed Auto‑Exposure (P Mode): Nikon’s first SLR to offer this easy-to-use, automatic exposure setting.

  • TTL Flash Control: Built-in hot shoe that automatically measures flash exposure through the lens—ideal for accurate lighting.

  • Electronic Shutter: Smooth and precise control, expertly managed by an internal computer.

  • Exposure Compensation Dial (−2 EV to +2 EV): Quickly adjust brightness when lighting isn’t ideal.

  • Audio Warnings: Beeps to signal when shots may be under- or over‑exposed.

  • Mechanical Backup (M90 & Bulb): Continue shooting manually even if batteries die.

Durable Design

  • Body: Lightweight yet strong copper-silumin alloy with a polycarbonate outer shell.

  • Grip: Covered in faux-leather for a secure, comfortable hold.

  • Lens Mount: Rugged metal F-mount compatible with a wide range of Nikon lenses.

Easy Exposure Control

The FG’s built-in microcomputer supports three modes:

  1. P – Programmed Auto‑Exposure: Automatically adjusts shutter and aperture.

  2. A – Aperture‑Priority AE: Set aperture and let the camera choose shutter speed.

  3. M – Manual Mode: Full control with guide suggestions shown in the viewfinder.

Metering happens after the lens stops down for more precise exposure readings.

Clear Viewfinder

  • 0.84× magnification and around 92% frame coverage.

  • Bright “K-type” focusing screen with split-image and microprism indicators.

  • Viewfinder shows selected and suggested shutter speeds, plus warning lights for exposure issues and flash readiness.

Flash Made Simple

Enjoy accurate flash shots thanks to the FG’s TTL Off-the-Film flash system. It measures light directly at the film surface, resulting in well-lit photos with minimal guesswork.

  • What should I expect from an "Acceptable Condition" camera? Maximum savings with deep discounts. Expect heavy visible cosmetic signs of use, including visible screen markings and physical blemishes, but perfect functionality.
  • What do I get with a "Good Condition" camera? Smart savings on gently used gear. These show minor cosmetic signs of previous use from regular handling, minor body blemishes or screen markings.
  • What does "Excellent Condition" mean? Near-mint, showroom-ready quality. These units show little to no visible cosmetic wear, feature entirely clean display screens free of scratches.
